Ahh, I had one of those giant chevy stickers on the back window of my first Blazer, it was lined up just right and basically acted as a view finder/crosshair for the back window lol.

It also drew a lot of attention.

Haha! I totally agree. I snatched the wheels off of my brother’s 2nd gen Firebird since it has been sitting for years. The offset is all wrong, but they free tho.

Somewhere around there. I think I read 323? Not many either way. I wasn’t crazy about the color originally, but it was about 2-3k cheaper than any local Z28 so I took a quick 55 minute flight to Atlanta amd drove it back to Memphis. When I get around to repainting it, I want it the same but maybe two shades darker.

You know how the BGM really changes a lot depending on the light and cloud coverage? It looks so good when it’s cloudy and the paint is dark. I want it like that more often.

That’s so you can reach in between the panels and clean behind them when you get it all dirty. Door hinges acting up? Stick your head in between it and the fender and check it out! Check the oil without ever lifting the hood! It’s great.

It really does and it lines up perfectly with my mirror and in the winter that’s all I will scrape because it’s all I need.

And yeah it always seems to grab attention. Everyone wants a race nowadays.

Man 10 years ago they all wanted a race with my Blazer. Pretty sure that sticker just says “race me”. Good thing we built that 4.3L way more than it every should have been or I would have lost a lot of races.

Pretty much, it was a target and nice i have a thing for first gen s10 blazer/jimmy/bravadas, I don’t care it’s a box. Ive owned a 94 bravada and one of my dream cars is a Typhoon. The 4.3L is a beast when done right and sounds like you did but it’s sad that the parts backing up the power plant were not as good

man that truck was awesome, it’s one of the biggest regrets of my life selling it.

built the engine with my dad, bored it 60 over (them’s some big pistons in a V6!!!), ported heads, mild cam, roller rockered valves, exhaust. Rebuilt trans. hand bent the fuel lines for the whole truck (they rusted out)

Upgraded the seats to some Jimmy ones that came out of our parts truck, they weren’t much nicer comfort wise and they were black with red on them which didn’t match but they weren’t ripped so that was nice.

We pulled the cruise control off the Jimmy which was a 92. nightmare wiring job. GM decided to change all the colors of the wires on the whole wiring harness between 88 and 92. Brown matches Red. Red with white stripe matches yellow with black stripe, etc. Was a much needed upgrade though (bad knee plus multiple rides from NJ to MI and back per year).

I spun those tires A LOT in my days and it never had a problem climbing over even a foot or more of unplowed snow.

That is big but even so it is just a 5.7 v8 with 2 cylinders missing. And the horrors, we had some electric gremlins and I saw the diagrams and said fuck that. I have heard alot of the wiring depended on if it was CPI, TPI, or Carbureted.

And damn it sounds like it really was a beast. Should have found some Bravada seats. Way better than the Blazers, not sure on the Jimmys. Our 94 below. It had some issues but it was a great car to learn how to wrench on, though screw those spider injectiors. Pretty sure we went through at least 2 but it did still run with leaky injectors at 5mpg.

Yeah so think about a 5.7 bored 60 over and that’s the pistons I was running in that little truck. Mine was a TPI, i believe the Jimmy we tore apart was as well but it was 4 years different and the GMC had more electronics. Almost lit the truck on fire when we first started it up, ended up needing to get a new blinker arm instead of re-purposing the GMC one. I turned it on after we wired it for what had to be at least a full day and smoke started coming out of the steering column. I shut it off and my dad yells “what the hell did you do that for?!” my response was when you see smoke coming out of the steering column you turn it the hell off and get out!
